Ant-Man Actor David Dastmalchian Says Kurt’s Hair Was Too Strong For Thanos To Destroy

Although we don’t officially know Kurt’s fate after Thanos’ snap, Dastmalchian offered his own explanation as to what happened. He said:

“His physical body was turned to dust for a number of years, but his hair never dissolved. If there is one thing that Thanos could not destroy with the snap … he made Spider-Man go bye-bye. He made half of existence disappear, but he could not make Kurt’s hair go away, and that’s the power of Kurt’s hair. Kurt is currently doing his thing. He’s back, obviously. They were able to return everyone from the snap. He looks better than ever. If you saw ‘What If… ?,’ which I think was so brilliant, Kurt, unfortunately, had a pretty sad end in that. But that’s an alternate universe.”

If you recall, poor Kurt was taken down by Wanda Maximoff in one of the “What If… ?” episodes. On Earth-616, however, Kurt and his Thanos-defying hair remain. Dastmalchian himself has staying power in the comic book movie genre. In addition to his Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, he’s appeared in the DC Universe as Abra Kadabra in The CW’s “The Flash,” and as Polka-Dot Man in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad.”

Here’s hoping we’ll see Kurt and his hair again in another part of the multiverse.

“Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” is in theaters now.
