Speaking with Crunchyroll, manga creator Hajime Isayama said he has no plans to further explore the story of “Attack on Titan,” but said he did have some ideas in mind.
When asked if we could expect additional backstories for Hange or members of the Levi Squad, Isayama said, “Regarding Levi, I actually have something in my mind, but at the same time, I don’t know if I will be able to write that or not.” There have been rumors about Isayama retiring after finishing “Attack on Titan” for a few years now, fueled by his dreams of opening a sauna.
And yet, that doesn’t mean Isayama has stopped thinking about his characters, or where to take them. As the author said, “I have imagined what the story of Levi would be in my mind, but at the same time, whether I am able to output it, that’s a whole other story because writing a manga is a really difficult task for me.”
“No Regrets” was a story written by an author other than Isayama, so nothing is stopping him from having someone else write up this potential Levi spin-off. In the meantime, we can expect to see Levi return when “Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Edition Part 2” returns March 4, 2023.
